Privacy Policy
Last Updated: June 21, 2026
1. Introduction
Welcome to BBN – Bitcoin Brasil News (https://bbnews.cc). We are a financial news platform dedicated to delivering timely, accurate coverage of Bitcoin, cryptocurrency markets, and global geopolitical developments.
At BBN, we are deeply committed to protecting your privacy and maintaining full transparency regarding how data is handled on our platform. This Privacy Policy describes the types of information we may collect, how it is processed, and the measures we take to safeguard it.
By accessing and using our website, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review this document periodically for any updates.
2. Information We Collect (And What We Don't)
BBN operates under a privacy-first philosophy. We have intentionally designed our platform so that you can read the news freely and without friction:
- No Registration Required: You do not need to create an account, provide your name, email address, phone number, or any other personally identifiable information (PII) to browse and read articles on our site.
- No Data Sales: We do not sell, trade, rent, or otherwise monetize any user data to third parties — under any circumstances.
- No Invasive Tracking: We do not deploy invasive tracking mechanisms, behavioral profiling tools, or fingerprinting scripts to monitor your browsing activity across the web.
Minimal Technical Data
Like virtually all websites, our hosting infrastructure and analytics services may automatically process minimal technical log data as part of standard server operations. This may include:
- Anonymized or truncated IP addresses
- Browser type and version (e.g., Chrome, Firefox, Safari)
- Operating system and device type
- Referring URLs and pages visited within our site
- Timestamps of page requests
This data is collected automatically by our hosting provider (such as Render) and, where applicable, by analytics services (such as Google Analytics configured with IP anonymization). It is used solely to ensure site stability, diagnose technical issues, and understand aggregate traffic patterns. It is never used to identify individual users.
3. Decentralized Protocol & Third-Party Services
BBN's backend infrastructure is designed to leverage modern, decentralized technologies in conjunction with reliable managed services:
Supabase
We use Supabase as our primary database and content management service. Supabase stores article data, headlines, and editorial metadata. No user-generated personal data is stored in Supabase, as we do not collect such information from readers.
Nostr Protocol
BBN distributes and syndicates content natively via the Nostr protocol — an open, censorship-resistant, decentralized communication protocol. Key points to understand:
- Content published through Nostr is broadcast to a network of public relays. These relays are operated independently and are public by nature.
- Once content is published to the Nostr network, it may be replicated, cached, or stored by any relay or client on the network. BBN does not control how third-party relays handle data after publication.
- No personal user data from BBN readers is transmitted through the Nostr protocol. Only editorial content is published.
Third-Party Services
Our platform may integrate with or link to third-party services, including but not limited to:
- Google Analytics — for anonymized traffic analysis
- Google Fonts — for typography delivery
- Render — for hosting and deployment infrastructure
- BloFin — affiliate links for cryptocurrency exchange services
Each third-party service operates under its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review the privacy practices of any third-party services you interact with through our platform.
4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
BBN uses minimal or no tracking cookies. Our approach to cookies is as follows:
- Essential Cookies: If any cookies are used, they are strictly for performance optimization, site security, or basic functional preferences (such as theme settings). These cookies do not collect personally identifiable information.
- Analytics Cookies: If analytics services (such as Google Analytics) set cookies, they are configured to anonymize IP addresses and are used solely for aggregate statistical reporting.
- No Advertising Cookies: BBN does not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or cross-site tracking technologies.
You may configure your browser to reject all cookies or to alert you when cookies are being set. Please note that disabling cookies may not affect your experience on BBN, as our platform is designed to function without them.
5. Data Security & International Compliance
Security Measures
We implement robust, industry-standard security measures throughout our technology stack to protect any data processed by our systems:
- All data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS protocols
- Access to backend systems and databases is restricted through API key authentication and role-based permissions
- Our hosting infrastructure employs automated monitoring, DDoS protection, and regular security updates
- Our static site generation (SSG) architecture inherently minimizes the attack surface, as there is no dynamic user-facing server processing personal data
International Privacy Frameworks
BBN respects and operates in accordance with global data privacy frameworks, including:
- General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) — For users accessing our platform from the European Economic Area (EEA), we ensure that any data processing complies with GDPR principles, including data minimization, purpose limitation, and lawful processing. Given that BBN does not collect personal data from readers, GDPR obligations are inherently satisfied by design.
- California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) — For users in California, we affirm that BBN does not sell personal information. You have the right to know what information, if any, is collected and to request its deletion. As BBN does not collect or store personal user data, there is no personal information to disclose or delete.
- Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados (LGPD) — As a platform with Brazilian heritage, BBN adheres to the principles of Brazil's General Data Protection Law, ensuring transparency, necessity, and security in any data handling practices.
6. Changes to This Privacy Policy
BBN reserves the right to update or modify this Privacy Policy at any time, without prior notice, to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make material changes, the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page will be revised accordingly.
We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we are protecting your information. Your continued use of the platform following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
